Can you introduce your business and describe what you offer customers?
Rea Rea J’s offers personalized embroidered clothing that is both comfortable and stylish. Made with both boys and girls in mind, we love to create styles that your kiddos can match in for game day to Easter Sunday and everything in between. We also offer many personalized accessories as well.
What inspired you to start your business?
When my daughter was 6 months old and my son had just turned two, I was feeling like my identity was really lost in motherhood. I really needed something that was just for me. I started to learn to sew as a creative outlet and it just came so naturally to me. Despite it being a hobby for myself, my favorite things to make were all clothing and accessories for the kids. I started Rea Rea J’s originally just selling bows in October of 2020.
Around this same time, I was also feeling frustrated by the lack of boy girl matching outfits that I liked, prompting me to start making my own. As every boy mom will tell you, the boy options out there are just so limited- everything is either way too formal or way too casual. I started making outfits for my son, Parker, that I felt like were a good happy medium that he was actually excited about wearing. Friends saw what I was making and encouraged me to add them to my offerings which blew up into something much more than I ever imagined.
The name Rea Rea J’s comes from my daughter, Reagan June. When she was born, my son, Parker, could not say Reagan so we all started calling her “Rea Rea”
What materials are the clothes typically made from?
Again, this varies from item to item. Our handmade items are mostly made from cotton/ polyester blend woven fabrics but we line everything we make with 100% cotton. Our shirts for the most part are 100% cotton as well.
Are there any limitations on the types of customization or designs that can be requested?
For the most part, we can customize colors and fonts however you would like for our standard set of designs. If you want something specific, usually we can make it work. Our only limitation is that we will not use any designs, phrases, etc that are trademarked or licensed.
What is your most popular design or best selling type of clothing?
Our most popular item is by far our shorts! We hand make each pair. They are fully lined and come in over 25 colors. They are definitely a favorite and we have so many customers who come back over and over again for them. Other popular things include our game day collection and rodeo collection! We really stand out in those hard to find niches especially for our Houston moms!
What range of sizes do you offer?
Each style is different but our core products run 0-3 months to 12. Some styles we can do in youth and adult sizes as well.
What is your average turnaround time for a customized order?
Our typical turnaround time is about 2-3 weeks. We always strive to get things out faster but as each piece is made to order, it can take some time during our busy times. For anything fully custom (like a custom birthday shirt), we ask for at least three to four weeks as they take much longer with concepting and sourcing any additional materials. We do offer rush processing for a small fee.
